Very powerful, poignant book - the maid and her mistress have lives that have been intertwined for over 20 years, and they have helped each other through the worst patches, yet at a crucial moment when their lives are brought even closer, they cannot take that final step.
Great book. It is brilliant at explaining all the conflicting emotions of servant and served. This book is well written and really revealing. A look inside Indian society.
This book was wonderful and sad, showcasing the resilience of a woman's heart and the strength of a mother's love.
