This is my first Rushdie novel and it's a retelling of the Orpheus and Eurydice myth. I would have given it 5 stars on the first half but the main characters kind of annoyed me in the middle of it so I gave it 4 stars (it got better again after that middle section). The three main characters are Ormus Cama (brilliant rock star and bit of a nutter, Orpheus character), Vina Apsara (brilliant rock star, Eurydice character) and the narrator, Rai Merchant (photographer and friend of Ormus and Vina).
