Me es difícil imaginar un destino más aciago que el de Okonkwo y me rompe el corazón imaginar cuántos miles de personas sufrieron un destino similar durante las innumerables "conquistas" perpetradas por el hombre blanco. Me produjo mucha angustia leer esta historia; sin embargo, coincido con lo que expresa el prólogo de esta edición: es una opera magna. Me gustó mucho el estilo y me agradó conocer un poco sobre las costumbres de los pueblos igbo que describe el autor.
