Another crime novel masked by hype and translation from another language! Okay, okay, it wasn't that bad. The characters were interesting; I particularly loved Salander and am happy to see she'll appear in the next book by Larsson, The Girl who Played with Fire. Love the setting, although maybe people from Sweden are used to reading books set there (and it was originally written in Swedish). I enjoyed the relationship between Blomkvist and Berger, while the Vanger family grew increasingly distur

It's grisly in a very sadistic way so if that's not your cup of tea, be forewarned. The Wennerstrom wrap-up at the end seemed a little too easy and convenient. It seemed like the Wennerstrom story was mostly backstory for the main Vanger narrative but occupied more space than a backstory should but not in a satisfying sort of way.

poorly articulated plot, meagre verbal expression, burdening amount of useless detail, high predictibility....

wow! just wow! I'll admit to being a bit put off in the very beginning with all the financial stuff, but wow, this was compelling!!
