منذ زمن لم أشعر بتلك المتعة والنشوة أثناء قراءة رواية ما أو تلك الرغبة بالبكاء والإختلاء بنفسي والجلوس بصمت لأعيد ترتيب أفكاري وتهدأت مشاعري المضطربة بعد الإنتهاء من رواية ... شعور لذيذ وغريب وهو تماما ما أشعر به بعد ما أنهيت هذه الرواية التي تشدك لعالمها بقوة ودون أن تشعر بذلك .. أحببتهاوهي تجربتي الأولى مع جابرييل غارسيا ماركيز وحتما لن تكون الأخيرة

I read less than half this book. I just couldn't get into it. Was written in Spanish in 1967 and later translated to English. It covers 7 generations of the Buendia family - the husband and wife start a community in northern South America. The book is a story that takes place during the creation of Columbia. Tells about the lack of planning and all of the wars during the creation of Columbia. Maybe I'd like it better if I was interested in South American history.
