This premise of this book is not jsut old wine in new bottles. No. That sounds to delibreate and thoughtful. This book is pure BS. No other word for it. Kharma is not The Secret. Kharma is not even "what goes around comes around". Kharma is merely the observation that every action contains the capacity to set another action or actions in motion, and sometimes, because we live in a highly complex system of people, a seemingly innocuous action can have unintended, negative consequences. Nothing mysterious there. That is called social life in a complex civilization. That is it. No magical thought needed. No mysterious mechanism known only to initiates of an arcane order with an ancient wisdom. Kudos to the woman that asked Oprah if the premise of the "secret" meant that women invited rape into their lives. This book is vague pseudo-mysticism at best, an endorsement of spiritual materialism, and at worst, just plain destructive. The secret is that there isn't one. Deal with it.
