While I had known about Katherine Parr in broad outline, this book goes into much greater depth, making her (and many others in Henry VIII's court)seem more of a real person. After reading this book, I am more glad than ever that I live in modern times and in modest circumstances. The tensions and physical discomforts of living in the court of someone like Henry must have been formidable.
