One of the two or three books, along with Strunk and White's Elements of Style, that I think every writer should have on their shelf. Just a wonderful aid to writing. And not just for nonfiction, although the focus is primarily on nonfiction. It's also wonderously funny.

Probably the best guide on writing, period, that is out there. I've read it multiple times. It doesn't just apply to nonfiction.
