Leslie puts faces on the animal extinction challenge, with brief reports on the trials and progress of 100 endangered creatures. The animals are of almost every type, and from most corners of the planet. A lot of the endangered species come from islands, or are only surviving on islands where they find some protection from their enemies. Of course saving environments is the way to help all the local animals, and one species can hardly be saved in isolation from its neighbors. But the conservation movement needs its' poster children to rally around, and Leslie provides a usefully diverse PR piece for that.
