This story was written in 1983 when my daughter and son were 4 and 3 respectively. My favorite part of any day was reading to them but I found that at that time, most children's books were about tedious learning at a time when I wanted them to learn that reading is FUN! I've always loved elves and fairies and created the Root People just for my children - a story written just for them from Mom. The Root People aren't fairies, and they aren't elves. They are unique and whimsical and were created out of my love for my children.
