This book made me so paranoid that I was about to freak out in a train, because the passager across from me ate three apples in less than ten minutes - and yes, he ate the core as well.
This book wasn't as scary as it was creepy. And it had me paranoid and I lost sleep a couple of nights, so I guess it did it's job.
I'll have to say though that it felt more of a crime novel than a horror novel, so I was quite disappointed at that. I liked how we saw it from the criminal's POV, it added something ...more

I feel like this book is a little over-hyped but I did like the book. It was quite fast paced, so I didn't flip through the book. We all know the story of Hannibal Lecter, so it wasn't all new for me. I actually thought this book was about just Will Graham and Hannibal, but in this book Hannibal is only a small part of the plot as he is already caught by Graham and sits in prison. However, I really like Will Graham. It's interesting to read from his mind and follow him through a case.

evil and madness is excellently portrayed but I'm not given much reason to like the protagonist.
