This book was a crucial stepping stone to becoming the person I am with the convictions, courage, and integrity to always think for myself and to always speak my mind, without weighing how people will react or whether I am the only one that speaks up. I never feel like, I have to belong or be accepted.

Reading this books analysis of 'The Outsider', brings to my mind the book- The Denial of Death by Ernest Becker; in which 'The Outsider' could be said, to be the person who rejects the standard Heroic solutions provided by society, and is forced to set about the difficult and often precarious task of constructing their own Heroic solution from within themselves.

Both books seem to conclude that the solution is a spiritual/religious one, that must come from within. Briefly touched on, yet worth I
