How many of us have super cool dreams but one gianormous fear that prevents us from making that dream come true? I'm going to bet a lot. High School senior, Tere Adams, is just like the rest of us. Painfully shy, Tere longs to be a DJ at Miami's hottest radio station, SLAM. When a DJ slot suddenly opens up, she wills herself to tell stepdad, Rob,--who just happens to run the station--that she wants the job. As SLAM's newest intern, Tere takes on the radio alias Sweet T and is not only introducing tunes on the airwaves, but she's also become a hit with the listeners. Thankfully, no one--not even BFF Audrey or Gavin the guy she's crushing on--knows that Tere is Sweet T and she's determined to keep it that way. Shrinking Violet is well-written, funny, and enjoyable all the way through. Let's hope Danielle Joseph will keep on writing fabulous teen books. I cannot wait for her second novel, Indigo Blues, to hit the shelves.
