When I picked this book up, it was with the hopes that I would be reading a very funny and very creative novel. And I was not let down.

While it wasnt pee-my-pants funny in the same way that ..say... The Stupidest Angel was (the only other C Moore book that I had read), it did have its moments. Like where Biff and Joy take on the demon. And Joshua sits in the stable beside Biff while he has his way with a harlot, asking him for a play by play....

There is alot of witty humor, and sarcasm galore.

This book was awesome !!!! For real, I loved it. Maybe not as much as I loved A Dirty Job but yeah it was great. On that subject I think it is kind of strange how no matter how good the second book you read by an author is, the first one most always holds sway over the second.

It was thanks to some good friends here at GR, plus a friend at work who had already read it before me, that I am now an avid Moore Fan. Next up for me will be Fluke most likely, as it was recommended by one of the sam

Wow! What can I say....

I loved this one. Christopher Moore offers a lighthearted look at the missing decades of Joshua (aka Jesus) bar Joseph of Nazareth's life. He answers the questions many people (okay, maybe not so much) ponder:

Where did Jesus come up with his ideas about how we should live our lives?
How did Jesus feel about not "knowing" a woman?
What were the disciples really like?
What was Jesus like as a teenager?

Through the character of Biff, Jesus's best friend, Moore showed me an impor

Moving steadily through Christopher Moore's catalogue...

I picked this one up and put it down a lot of times. It has some fun parts and a couple of interesting conjectures, but the setup takes some wading through. Jesus and his best friend Biff are teenagers who think, talk and act like teenagers. They travel through the Orient, meeting up and studying with the 3 wise men who followed the star at Jesus' birth. Biff learns tantra and martial arts, and Jesus learns to be his people's messiah. The n

Another good, solid, and hilarious book from Christopher Moore. The angel Raziel, who was 10 years late announcing the birth of Joshua (Jesus), is sent to resurrect Levi, otherwise known as Biff, to write a gospel telling the first 30 years of the life of the Messiah.

Biff is Joshua's childhood friend who spent 30 years traveling with Joshua, exploring different ways of life, experiences, religions, and adventures. As usual, Moore does a great job with humor (not stupid humor, but smart humor) an

If you haven't read this book, you need to.
Now.
Before you do anything else.
Don't let the title throw you off. This is not some bizarre, sacreligious, in your face book. It's the story of all those missing years in the Bible, told by the man who was there.
Best. Book. Ever.

If you don't have a copy of your own, and you're afraid you might get struck by lightning buying it, email me. I'll lend you mine.

Trust me: this one is a million seller because of me. I keep lending out copies to people who neve

Following jesus's early year narrarated by the pal Biff. If you're looking for a laugh and a very different opion on what jesus was doing before he got famous then this is your book. It reminded me to take life not so seriously. ...more

This is a wonderful story about Jesus and how he came to be the Messiah. I would love to believe that Jesus was such a character, and had such a wonderful, lovable best friend. Plus it's just funny as hell. ...more

Been dying to read this since I read A Dirty Job by Moore. Everyone says this is one of his best.

I really thought I’d like this much more than I did. Maybe my expectations were just too high.
