I am reviewing the audio format of this book. It is a well-written and well-read book. The subject matter, TR, is one I have been interested in for years although I am by far no expert on his life and/or times. The story of this journey that he made, the characters involved, the huge undertaking is just fascinating to me. I recommend it to those interested in the Amazon jungle, in tales of TR, in adventure stories, in understanding one of the driving forces of the American journey.

I didn't know anything about this expedition before finding this book.
I could never do what these men did. Bugs, snakes, jungle, and people who want to kill me on sight are not on my radar; but I was interested in hearing the story of those who do have a hankering for adventure.
