I saw this on a book list and remembered that I read it a few years ago. Did not like the way the author depicted the prophet Jacob, but an interesting look at the ancient culture as it may have been experienced by women. The untold story of Dinah...VERY loosely-based on the Bible.
It was easy to get absorbed into this story. I did the audio version and kept interested and enjoyed it very much. While I am a practicing Catholic I really didn't know about Dinah or her family. Very enjoyed reading about the roles of women in ancient history.

I really enjoyed this story and got caught up in it. It has been a while since I read about Jacob in the Bible let alone spend time in the Old Testament. The writing flowed so well and the story seemed so real that I started to confuse certain parts so I went back and re-read that part of the Bible last night. Although fiction {reminding myself}, this book gives an interesting perspective of the intricate lives of women during biblical times.
