The first John Paul story felt contrived, in a weird way. I realized John Paul is Ender's father and all, but his story felt derivative of Ender's origin. That isn't what I want to say, really, but I can't put words to what I feel exactly, haha. Two stars.
John Paul and Therese's meeting made me cry a little, in a good way. Five stars.
The original Ender's Game novella being republished is an excellent treat, but it kind of broke up the flow and pacing of this book, as a collection.

There are a bunch of good short stories that fills in a few gaps. But, it's an expensive hardcover for a few stories.

Includes the original novella "Ender's Game" plus 3 short stories that fill in gaps in Ender's life or family: 2 about his parents' lives before he was born and one about his first contact with Jane. It's interesting to read the novella, but hard to imagine how I would have reacted to it if I didn't already know the book.
