Shelves: classics, chick-lit, oh-so-young, funny

I, like most girls who were born after 1908, loved Anne of Green Gables as a child. Loved. But, darn it all, I can't remember a darn thing about her aside from the fact that even after I am old and married that I shall never forget her. Plus, we both kicked butt at school. And freckles. We shared hatred and consternation over our freckles.

Wow. Reading this again as an adult was a solid choice. Solid. I would not have been friends with Anne, because, well, she is the single most ADD and extrovert ...more

I just feel in love with a new book. I really enjoyed reading this book. It made me laugh and cry. What a wonderful book to remember those childhood summers and laugh at such a funny heroine. Anne was such a great character and watching her grow from a flighty young girl to a remarkable, sophisticated young woman was such a treat. Now I must read the rest of the series.
