That's it- I'm done with Jane Austen. I've tried. I have now read two of her books, and that is enough of my time wasted. I don't understand what the big deal is- I just find her novels so unbelievably boring. I apologize to those of you who love her work, but it really really is not for me. I really did try my best, and right now I'm just patting myself on the back for finally finishing this little book after starting it a dozen times. Love her if you want; she just is not for me.

Persuasion is the last novel fully completed by Jane Austen. It was published at the end of 1817, six months after her death.

I get nervous to read a new Jane Austen book because I am such a fan and don't want to be disappointed. Happy to say this book delivered, I really enjoyed it.

I enjoyed this but I did find Anne to be too good and patient and passive a heroine. My favorite Austen is still Sense and Sensibility, though again, that may be due to the fact that I have a huge crush on Alan Rickman's Colonel Brandon!
