When I first started reading this book (seven years ago!) I was put off by its similarity to Anne of Green Gables, which I absolutely love. It seemed like an attempt at imitation, and so I set the book aside.

What a sweet little book. I never read this as a young girl and started it out of obligation as an adult. But, I must say, I really loved it. The character of Rebecca is great fun, and I loved the subtle humor found in so many of the characters of the book. I am definitely recommending that my daughters read this in the future. At the end of the book I kept hoping that there would be more to the story. I wanted to continue to find out more about the characters. But, in the end, I'll have to take
