After finding a copy of this on the thrift store's 20 cent table, I decided that it was time that I finally checked out this book much praised as a work of genius for myself.

I'd heard of this book for years and even saw a failed attempt at a Broadway Musical based on it. While the musical starring Michael York (which closed in previews) attempted to capture the spirit of the work, it somehow failed utterly.
