I generally have trouble with dystopian fiction and put this one off for some time.
Yet, when I started it, it was strangely compelling. In many ways it turns the genre inside out. In the the overbearing society viewed in 1984 Big Brother was everywhere and wanted to know everything. Here we have a society that wants to know nothing. Review to come. If you decide to read this book try to find whichever edition has the Newbery Acceptance Speech at the end. It's a sort of afterward for the novel penned by the author. It reveals a lot of her inspirations and the intended themes, written in a wonderfully emotional way. Really cemented this as a five star read.

I really like this book but was dissapointed at the ending. I'm not sure I really understood what happened. I was told to read the others in the series and it would make more sense.
