Just a standout, brilliant book. I cannot believe that I've never read it before-I had some crazy idea that it would terrify me. And, horrors and embarrassment, I've never seen the movie! I'll have to remedy that because I'm not sure how I reached my 40s without that except again, I thought I'd be scared witless. But this is how suspense and a police procedural should be written...

I hated this. Kindly refer to the review of the book #3.
This was a solid 3 star read, however I did not enjoy most of the novel. This is the first time I’ve read a book after seeing the movie. Even though it has been at least 20 years since I’ve last seen the movie, I felt like it was playing on the screen in the back of my head as I listened, only it was playing slightly faster, so I was seeing everything seconds before it actually happened, a constant reel of spoilers.
