Alafair Burke's latest release, The Wife, is a domestic suspense which is part police procedural and part legal thriller and revolves around issues like secrets, deceptions, kidnapping and murder.

Alafair Burke is a must read author for me each year and I’m rarely disappointed, The Wife was no exception. The mark of a great story in my mind is one where I don’t see the ending coming but does not seem so out of nowhere that it doesn’t track with the character’s personality, prior actions and the rest of the story and I found that to definitely be the case here.

Look for The Wife in just a few weeks!

Thank you to the publisher for an advance copy. All opinions are my own.

It was a way to pass the time, but I wish I had listened to something else. I have the author's first book The Ex, and I am worried that it will be more of the same. I felt like I kept waiting for twists that never happened, or little tidbits along the way, but alas, no. I would not recommend this book, and recommend you find another to captivate your t ...more

I really love this author, I've read quite a lot of her books and this has to be one of my favourites. I did figure out a few of the twists and had a major spoiler going in to it that probably brought down my rating of the book but it's definitely one people should pick up! A great domestic thriller. Although the ending was slightly frustrating!
