I can distantly remember when first picking up Enna Burning years ago, after realizing that The Goose Girl had a sequel and was ultimately part of a series, that it was tough to get into and stay invested in. Years from that initial read (and a couple rereads in between that were similarly difficult) I've realized the likely culprit. Enna and I are simply too similar.
