This book is the 2nd in a series drawing from a life lived in many parts of the world at the main points of late 20th Century history.
It is set in Singapore in the 1950's at the time of the Chinese riots and the latter part of the British colonial presence. Singapore has changed much since those days into a modern city, but the book is set at a time when local life was lived out in the kampongs and the scenery certainly depicted a paradise island set in the tropics. Yet, in this paradise island one British family knew life was far from perfect, and with guidance from local friends discovered their own heavenly journey.
