This is really a wonderful book about traditions, friendships and families. The more I read about the traditions of this town and The Blue Ridge Madam, the more curious I was to find out what happened so many years ago...There are untold secrets and mysteries that slowly unfold, leaving the reader wanting to know more.

This story sucked me right in. I loved the intricate way the characters lived intertwined, the hints at lore and magic, the suspense, etc. The friendships and romances had you rooting for them. The setting was expertly crafted as well as each character. The back stories were as good as the main ones. It all came together so nicely. I truly loved everything about this novel! I just couldn't put it down, and now that it is over I want more. I will be buying more of this author shortly.

Very quick and enjoyable read by Sarah Addison Allen. I enjoyed her previous work, and this definitely has much of that same feel--small-town, lots going on beneath the surface, and transformations of people brought about by self-reflection, circumstances, and a little magic. I do look forward to reading more of her writing.
