An incredible book. Much in the same vien as Kite Runner but the country through the eyes of a woman and all the travails that come with it. I hope they leave this one alone and don't try to make a movie from this as they could not hope to tell 1 tenth of the tale that is here. Very good

Beautiful.

I listened to an abridged version -f this story and it felt like it was missing something. The Characters were depicted well, but parts of the plot were jumpy. I know abridgers try to find the most interesting chapters to place in a story, but having red THE KITE RUNNER twice I wanted more of Hosseini's language. He describes Afghanistan very well for Americans and I really wanted to see that world and not just the dialogue between the outcast woman and her sister. The ending is so well done eve

I liked this one better than "The Kite Runner" but I seem to be of a minority when I say I didn't like it. For me, I much prefered The Bookseller of Kabul and The Swallows of Kabul. BUt this one was a better read and I finished it pretty quickly. I think I just don't like Khaled's writing style. It bothers me.
