For a while I considered giving this YA novel the full five stars. It's extremely well written and has blown away readers in all age groups. I got caught up in it and recommend it highly.

Wow, reading this one on your kindle makes it difficult to believe when you've hit the end. I kept tapping on the right, trying to make it to the next page/chapter. At least with the actual book in your hands you know the end is coming. Am I ever glad that I have all three books here. I think I'd be mighty annoyed if I read this when it first came out and found out that I had to wait for the next book to be finished. What a love story cliffhanger!

I dont know what more to say than that I LOVED this book! The author did an incredible job of taking an idea that most would never want to think about and making it into a story you have to finish. You HAVE to know how it ends. The government chooses 2 kids out of every district and makes them fight to the death over a course of days and weeks. The idea is barbaric! This is such a fantastic and thrilling young adult book!!!
It's the first in a trilogy set in a futuristic/dystopian America. "The Capitol" has control of 12 gated districts.
They are gated because 75 years prior, District 13 revolted against the government who responded by completely obliterating the area.

The Hunger Games is a live TV show, that takes twelve girls and twelve boys and puts them against eachother for their lives. Each of the twelve districts of Panem give two of their children to the games and hopes that one will come back alive.
When Katniss Everdeen takes her sisters place in the games, shes convinced that this is her death sentence. But survival is in her blood.
I loved this book. Thats all i can think of to say.
