We read this as a family and it is a great read-aloud book. DeCamillo writes the character’s dialogues with such hilarity that you can almost see the expressions and hear the inflections from the pages.
I love when our family has inside jokes that one of us will say for no reason, “I intended only lilies.” And another will respond, “Perhaps you don’t understand-“ And we crack up laughing. The nerd (or dork) that I am thinks it is even more special when it is a book that we share.

Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful. Listen to this on audiobook and you will not be disappointed. The narration by Juliet Stevenson is absolutely amazing. This story would be perfect for a family trip, but you will want to shush everyone in the car so that you won't miss a second.

Nice, short story. Not really dramatic or anything, just a pleasant book. A good break from action novels and stuff like that.
Slow but nice prose.
