Disturbing.........but, I couldn’t put it down.
I am giving this book 4 stars. 3 for the story and 1 more for the narrator. I liked it a lot but thought it was going to be so much more. It is fine for the faint of heart, doesn't get into detail about what exactly the mom did. It is left to your imagination and that is great but I was expecting more from Phoebe. She was definitely pushed to the point I think anyone would break. I figured the end out but that was okay. Glad I listened to this one. I think I enjoyed more that if I had read it.

I love the story . The writing is a little choppy though
Listened by audio and read at the same time. The writing style is very poetic. It's about a girl named Milly who is 15 years old when the book starts. Her mother is a serial killer who had killed children. Milly is the one who turned her mother into the authorities. This book is dark and creepy as Milly tends to have been possessed with her moms thoughts. The audio book I listened to at a very slow pace since I had the CD which you cannot speed up. Wow, wow wow!!! I finished this today and can’t stop thinking about it! I had no idea what is was about and I’m glad, this was a total surprise and sucked me in instantly! Dark and twisted in every way!
I know I may be a minority here since most rated 4* or more , I like thrillers/mystery’s, but something about this book just didn’t work for me. What and why, well can’t really answer that. I would say read it, it was an interesting twist psychology thriller having the view from a child about her mom.
Really enjoyed this book. Read this on audiobook on audible. The narrator was great and slightly sinister that really suited the character. Really enjoyed this on audiobook and it really built the tension. I didn't want to stop listening. Hope I'd still feel the same if I had read the book.
