Having read only one other Karin Slaughter book, The Good Daughter, which I wasn't overly impressed with... I was pretty nervous about going into another one of her books.
I'll say I did enjoy this book more than I did The Good Daughter but it did lose me a quarter of the way through. I just find her books a bit too slow-paced for me. They are grisly, gritty, gory and dark... very descriptive and she's definitely a fantastic writer but there's something about her books that just isn't for me?! ...more

The visceral response I had to this book was unexpected. My eyes watered, my stomach turned, my heartbeat skipped. She has a way with words leaving you wanting more, embarrassed that you’re listening to such attrition. Please Karin Slaughter GIVE. ME. MORE.
