This has to be one of the most messed up books I have ever read but I love Karin's writing style. This was the first book by Karin I've read and it definitely won't be the last.

This book was amazing. It was a harsh read don't get me wrong and very adult, not for the faint hearted. While the details were explicit and brutal they weren't unnecessary everything was calculated in this book. It was absolutely brilliantly done and a true psychological thriller. I couldn't put it down half the time even though it was so hard to keep reading. I am absolutely in love with Kerin Slaughter and can't wait to read more of her books.

I very much enjoyed this story. I had been searching for an author that could hold my attention and keep me from putting a thriller book down. Karin did that for me. I had to knock a star off because it did take me about half the book to really get absorbed into the story.
I did have the story mostly figured out before the big reveal. Some of the finer details were very interesting to discover. I never found any of it to be too shocking to have to put the book down to take a minute to process.

Fast paced thriller with some twists and surprises. Follows two estranged sisters who come together after the death of one of their husbands and the mystery surrounding him. 24 years ago their older sister Julia went missing and was never found. It jumps between some letters their dad writes to his missing diary to POV between the two main characters Lydia and Claire. There is definitely some strong content involving the fate of their sister and other girls who have gone missing.
