The further I read in Kopzorg : het verhaal van vader en zoon, the more I started to like and appreciate this book. It allowed me a glance into a world I knew hardly anything about and the humour with which the story is written makes it a lovely read.
The story is one written by a mature man, who is looking back upon his youth in Paramaribo and upon the life of his father, Nelis. To a much lesser extent, the life of his mother, Selina, is also described.
