While I really enjoyed this book and look forward to future books in this new series I do have some concerns.
Let me start with the basic story, I loved it, a race of beings that were genetically engineered by ancient colonists, to be slaves are living fairly peacefully generations (centuries?) later after overthrowing their human masters makes this an almost automatic "I love that plot".
Jax upsets the balance of the human/kraken who are both living almost unknown of the others existence by rescu ...more

A Gripping Tale!

Definitely an interesting story that has me looking forward to the next book. While the theme (alien-type romance) may not be a new one, these characters and this world were very engaging and unique. I did have a little trouble picturing the kraken in my head, but this was not the author's fault as she gave a thorough description. But my mind kept trying to put legs on them when in fact they had no lower body if I read things right. The love felt between the H and h helped me overcome any issues

Not in a reviewing mood so I'll be brief, but... 4 stars for content. I enjoyed the story and the characters.
Audible: I added the whispersync audible narration to this kindle book. I do NOT recommend listening to the audio book. It is better to just read this one. There are two narrators. The female was fine but the male wasn't my favorite. He didn't enunciate well or speak clearly and the way he spoke did not match Jax's character. ...more
