Wonderful story from my favourite author. The handsome H seems like a hero but the brave h is suspicious from the first. They do fall in love, but their agendas conflict and their agreement is to form a partnership to overcome evil magic. The characters and plot are well developed, and I love the heroine's brothers, such sweet little boys who are more than they seem. It's almost a perfect fantasy story without any fairy tale ending. It's brutal, and I loved it.

I don't know how they do it, but Ilona Andrews duo always makes me fall in love with their books. It took me by surprise too - I felt a bit resistant to liking On the Edge world and its characters at first, but by the end - I couldn't wait to read more about them! Of course you can't miss great world-building, interesting mythology, and humor of the characters.
