4.5 stars. I've been in a reading slump and cranky about almost everything I've been reading. Thank goodness for On the Edge. This book has great world building and characters. It was a pleasure to read.

This took a little bit of time to get into, but once I did, it was hard to put down. In this world, you have the "Broken:" non-magical, "real" world, the "Weird:" magic exists, and the "Edge:" the place between. Most in the Weird are unable to cross into the Broken. Those in the Broken are ignorant of the existence of the other 2. The Edgers (as they are called) can easily cross into the Broken and may cross into the Weird if they have enough magic. I really enjoyed this book. The world building is original, and the characters are strong and likeable. I'm ready to delve into the second book of the series (since I felt kind of bad for William in the first book).
