Deep breath. There was a moment that really pissed me off. Let's get that out of the way first. If I wasn't reading this for Bingo, it probably would have been DNF'd.
Brand and Addy (Adara) are the main characters. So, of course, Brand is a walking wet dream. I guess that gives him the excuse to behave in less than desirable ways. Now that the second book is almost out I discovered that I didn't write any kind of review at all for the Demon Hunting in Dixie. I thought that the book was a total crack up, the dialog was so amazing - colorful, and rapid paced - I still haven't run across anything else quite like it – Laurenston's Pride without the crass or maybe something by MacAllister's without the need for therapy are the only things come even remotely close. This book was funny in a tongue-in-cheek kind of way. I did enjoy the southern witticisms. Most I've heard, but a few were new to me. I kept expecting to see the one "like a one-legged man in an a$$-kicking contest". I would definitely recommend the book for the humorous aspect, but be prepared because the story is way out there - maybe a sci-fi/PR combination.
