Louisiana Longshot is the first book in the Miss Fortune Mystery series. When I asked a book group what exactly a cozy mystery is and for some recommendations to get me started, this book was highly recommended. It is the first book I have read by this author and it won't be my last.

Fast pace, lots of people hiding secrets in the bayou, as is the h, a 'spy/hitman'. She's kind to the people she meets, and that disrupts her self image. OTT plot and characters, a bit of fun but won't continue with the series.
