This book was well written in similiar quality to Patricia Biggs or Ilona Andrews, but with its own completely original storyline. The world that McGuire created was highly original and impressive, including the Fae politics, powers, etc. I've read many series incorporating the Fae and to date this one did the best job portraying them.

I absolutely loved this book and am so thrilled to have stumbled across the series so many books in...it means I get to binge read!
It's always hard to tell with first books but this has all the makings for a great series: October is an interesting heroine, there is tons of action, lots of potential for romance without coming off smutty, interesting magic system, great settings, etc. The world building is a little more complex than a lot of other urban fantasy and I noticed some other reviewers f ...more
