Reader gains the Marrok's history and the bonds he has with his son and his pack. Complex plot with witches, berserkers and a Vietnam veteran. He was likely the greatest hero of all, but the writer provides an outstanding story.

I really liked the story but not how it was written. It doesn't flow well or have good rhythm for easy reading. It felt choppy because at times the sentence structure and the way certain verbiage was used was confusing.
For example, sentences like this trip me up and pull me from the story because I would read it again to make sure I read it correctly.

I'm amazed that I had forgotten how much I love Patricia Briggs' books! I recently read a short story about Anna and Charles and loved it. I found this on my bookshelf and devoured it! I'm now on to the next in the series. Highly recommended!
