A favourite series to re-read. The h is a likeable hero as she's humble, smart and very independent. The H protected from his pack by declaring her as his mate. For me this is the ultimate urban fantasy.

2.5 "what was all the hype about" stars. I had such high expectations for Moon Called. It has hit so many favorites lists and has almost 125,000 ratings with an average of just over 4 stars. The book has to be great, right? Wrong.
The storyline was pretty good and seemed like it would make for a great book but it wasn't executed well. I felt that the whole story was mediocre overall and was jumbled and confusing.

I really enjoy this series and I'll be listening again. The main character is a nice twist on the werewolf theme, being a coyote but not a "were".
I like the independence of the MC and the complicated romance she evolves into with an alpha werewolf. I liked the magic system and fae and minor deities. There's a spin-off series (Alpha and Omega) that I haven't listened to yet but I'm looking forward to it after another marathon of this one.

Finally finished! I think next time, I will forego the audio version. The narrator - Lorelei King - did not do it for me - and it was a kind of torture listening to her. Mainly that's the reason it took me this long to get through this novel. Otherwise, I liked the premise but didn't love it. Still deciding if I want to check out the next book.
