It is hard to capture for those of us for whom flying has become routine the absolute marvel that was the Wright Brothers and their flying machine. The majority of people who thought people were not meant to fly, contrasted with the absolute dedication of Orville and Wilbur to sustaining flight. These men gave up so much. They lived in spartan camps at Kitty Hawk for years, eating eggs and drinking coffee, working long hours, making adjustment after adjustment, trial after careful trial.
