This book moved much slower than it's prequel Parable of the Sower. I suppose it may have been written that way to give readers that were not familiar with Sower the necessary background, but it felt really heavy.
Once the action began the book picked up tremendously, but the ending felt very abrupt. Butler mentioned working on a third book in this series before her death, perhaps if that book had been written the story would feel more complete to me. ...more
