For such an unassuming looking tome, this one packs a wallop. Well researched and clearly written, this book is for Christians like me who know helping the poor is pleasing to God but want to understand the why as much as the how. I'm distrustful of emotions and pathos-laden appeals. They're unreliable and can often lead to more harm than good.
