I have always loved Neil Gaiman's books for younger readers, but I confess that his adult novels have left me cold. He wrote (I thought) like someone who had made his start in comics and graphic novels. Although his writing was witty, his characters seemed shallow, and his settings seemed dim without the aid of pictures.

The full cast audio is such a wonderful production - all the accolades are well-deserved. Pretty much a flawless production and a very engaging, sometimes mind-bending book.

I tried to read American Gods several years ago and didn't get very far. It seemed to intentionally be written to be cinematic, which annoyed me, so I gave up and moved onto something else. Then a friend told me to listen to the full cast audiobook because it was great, so I put it back onto my to read list.
