I really enjoyed the idea of all the imported mythologies from so many cultures hiding among the mortals, trying to stay alive against the invented mythology of money and technology as their own power fades. Shadow was such an interesting character and Gaiman paced his character history/reveals very well. Great road trip book.

This was a re-read....I originally read American Gods 3 years ago and liked it but didn't really give it a lot of time/thought. Much better on the reread. ...this is a book where knowing where it's going and it's basic worldview helps the reading rather than ruins the surprise. Putting it on Ken's reading list before the show comes out! ...more
