What Members Thought

Sharon Kay Penman's historical fictions are top notch, and her take on Eleanor of Aquitaine is not to be missed. A re-read, and just as delightful the second time around.

Great reading - well researched and a great afterword detailing artistic liberties taken. Penman manages to bring Eleanor and Henry Plantagenet to life along with their motivations and their contemporaries. Henry was a brilliant king but made some mistakes in his personal life which cost him and his nation dearly and we get to watch as it all rolls out - great entertainment

Not much to add to all the other reviews, just a regret: I wish I could have read books like this when I was at school. I could have enjoyed history so much more.
