Thank you so much for sending me the ARC of The Hollow Places! I loved T. Kingfisher's book, The Twisted Ones, and this one is every bit as good. I don't put many novels on both my horror and humor shelves, but The Hollow Places is both horrific and funny. The author says that The Hollow Places was partly inspired by Algernon Blackwood's short story, The Willows. If you've ever read The Willows, you have some idea of what our characters are in for.

An imaginative and cleverly written premise. A perfect ingredient of slow-burn horror, humor and spectacular characterizations. I absolutely love slow-burn narratives and T. Kingfisher adeptly builds tension to its climax. As the story slowly unfolds it successfully affected the atmospheric dread which provided for an unsettlement experience brewing beneath the surface.
