I'm out, this book tries to be too much. Lots of character study, social commentary and ruminations. After reading that the first third is the most exciting I'm not going to force myself further.

This is supposed to be a great classic, but I'm fine with DNFing at about 50%, because there's too many great books out there and too little time. ...more

I know this book has been around for a long time and I did read it years ago, so many years that I didn’t remember what it was about. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Don’t let the length scare you away. It’s well worth the time you invest in reading it. Whether or not he intended to do so, King’s conflict between good and evil is timeless. Randall Flagg is as evil in this book as he is in the world and as far as I’m concerned, he does exist in one form or another in every decade or season of tim ...more
